Most handymen don’t lose jobs on quality. They lose them on the phone.

You’ve probably had it happen. You call, leave a message, and never hear back. Or someone comes out, promises a quote, and disappears.

That’s the whole reason this business exists.

Every call and text gets answered the same day. You’ll get a real time window, not “sometime Tuesday.” If I’m running late, you’ll hear it from me before you have to wonder. And if your job isn’t something I can do well, I’ll say so and point you to someone who can.

It’s a low bar. It’s also why most of my work comes from people who were let down by somebody else.

Ray Mercer, owner

“Ray texted me back in ten minutes on a Sunday, came out Monday morning exactly when he said, and fixed a door three other guys wouldn’t even quote. I’ve already given his number to two neighbors.”

What I fix

If it’s on the list, I do it every week. If it isn’t, call anyway. Odds are good I can help, or I know who can.

How it works

What happens when you call

You call or text.

Same-day answer, always. Tell me what’s going on, a photo helps.

You get a real number.

Most jobs I can price on the phone or from a picture. Bigger ones, I come look. Free, no obligation.

We pick a window.

A two-hour window on a specific day. Not “Tuesday.”

I show up and fix it.

Most jobs are done in one visit. You’ll get a photo of the finished work if you’re not home.

You pay when it’s done.

Card, check, or Venmo. Nothing up front on jobs under $500.

About

Eleven years, one truck, no runaround

I’m Ray. I spent nine years working for other people’s construction and remodel crews before starting Cascade Handyman in 2019. Most of what I learned in those years was what not to do, mainly, don’t leave people hanging.

It’s me and one helper, Marcus. That’s on purpose. A bigger crew means more overhead, more scheduling, and more chances your job becomes somebody’s afterthought.

I live in Ellensburg. My kids go to school here. If I do bad work, I hear about it at the grocery store.

“We’re an hour out in Cle Elum and he still came, no extra charge. Fixed the deck rail my husband had been ‘getting to’ since spring.”

Questions

Straight answers

Is my job too small?

No. Half of what I do is an hour of work, a door that won’t latch, a towel bar, a light fixture. Two-hour minimum, and most people stack up a few things to fill it.

What do you charge?

$95/hour with a two-hour minimum, plus materials. Most single jobs land between $190 and $400. Bigger projects get a flat quote before I start, so you’re never surprised.

Do you actually show up?

Yes, and I know why you’re asking. You get a two-hour window on a specific day, a text when I’m ten minutes out, and a call from me if anything changes.

Are you licensed and insured?

Licensed, bonded, and insured in Washington. Happy to send the certificate before I come out.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day answer, always. Most jobs get scheduled within three to five days. Genuine emergencies, water, no heat, a door that won’t lock, I work in same-day when I can.

What if I’m not home?

Fine, as long as I can get in. I’ll send photos of the finished work and you can pay after you’ve seen it.

Still got that thing on your list?

Call and I’ll tell you today whether I can fix it, what it’ll run, and when I can be there.

Or text a photo to the same number, sometimes that’s all I need to give you a price.
